Conditioned by Dress The Relationship Between Mind, Fashion, Film and Performance
Conditioned by Dress: The Relationship between Mind, Fashion, Film & Performance is the first monograph dedicated to the work of film-maker Anna-Nicole Ziesche. Since graduating as a fashion designer from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London, UK, Ziesche has created a highly original body of trans-disciplinary work, which marks a fascinating new point of departure for fashion design research. Ziesche employs the dynamic media of performance, film and animation to reveal the continuously evolving designs and shapes of garments on the body, to question the nature of our relationship with fashion and how this shapes self-identity. Conditioned by Dress: The Relationship between Mind, Fashion, Film & Performance is the first in the series PRACTICES of TRANS-DISCIPLINARITY, a co-publishing collaboration between ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in the Netherlands and the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, UK, which will examine research practices that cross the traditional boundaries assigned to the art and design disciplines.
