Everything but Clothes is about all great Dutch fashion photographers since the 90s. The book focuses on the importance of a number of (fashion) magazines, such as Avenue, Dutch, Re Magazine, BLVD. and Fantastic Man, which built up an international reputation by using innovative concepts and experimental forms. The book also discusses the advent of digital magazines and fashion blogs and vlogs and their influence on fashion photography. The dominant themes of the different periods are evident. 1980 to 2000 was the age of identity and eroticism. After the year 2000, staged drama and personal stories – artificial versus natural – began to play a more important role.
