Our new publication [SHIFT]: Exploring Relationships between Artists and Technology in Education, curated by Fabiola Camuti and Olle Paap, is now available everywhere. Contributions to the book were also made by Ryan van der Elst, Eloisa Germano, Philomeen de Gier, Steef Kersbergen, Féilim O’hAoláin, Juultje Schmidhamer, Yentl Staller, and Joëlle Vaartjes.
[SHIFT] positions itself at the heart of the global discussion about the impact of AI on creative disciplines and the role technology can play in reshaping education. It addresses issues such as authorship, originality, and the ethical implications of using technology in art and art education, offering valuable insights that go beyond superficial debates. The book emphasizes how students can critically engage with technology while also expanding their creativity through digital tools.
This book is a call to action. [SHIFT] encourages artists, educators, and technologists to work towards a more inclusive and equitable future. By using art as a dynamic framework, it provides innovative strategies for reimagining life and learning in a technology-driven world.
[SHIFT] also includes an interview with Nishant Shah, humanist, technologist, and professor of Global Media as well as Director of the Digital Narratives Studio at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, on his vision for education, digital technology, queer identity, and systemic exclusion.
