Out of Theory: Relational Ecologies of Theory and Practice in the Arts is published by ArtEZ Press. In this book, Peter Sonderen, together with sixteen artists and researchers, investigates how theory and practice in the arts strengthen and influence each other.

The book demonstrates that theory is not fixed but fluid, and is an integral part of making, researching, and perceiving. The second part presents Polyphonic Landscapes, a research project that approaches theory as practice. Through QR codes, readers can listen to podcasts, interviews, and sound recordings. Peter Sonderen has been lector of Theory in the Arts at ArtEZ for seventeen years and will retire in 2025. He was instrumental in founding the Honours Lab and the professional doctorate program at ArtEZ.
